Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Clerk of Works

Location: Field Based/home working (Primarily covering the whole of Yorkshire and some areas of the northwest)

Job Type: Permanent 22.5 hours (3 days per week) no weekend working

We are seeking an experienced M&E Clerk of Works to join our team at Clerks Of Works Inspector Services Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that works are carried out to the client's standards, specification, correct materials, workmanship, and to schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed inspections throughout the building process to ensure compliance with contract documents and best practice.

• Monitor progress against the client's programme for an independent view of the contract at any given stage.

• Review drawings/specifications to ensure that the schemes are being built as planned and query any discrepancies.

• Monitor the performance of the contractors on site and to ensure that M&E installation works are installed in accordance with the drawings, specifications and up to date standards.

• Assist in the witnessing of both Mechanical & Electrical testing and commissioning process.

• Prepare written reports with supporting photographs at weekly intervals as well as updated commissioning schedules, experience of organising, snagging and end of defect inspections.

• Act as the client's eyes and ears on site, by anticipating problems in advance to prevent abortive works on site and time wasted.

• Maintain a good relationship with the client and the design team by keeping in regular communication, attending site meetings, and issue weekly reports.

Requirements:

• Have a wide understanding of Mechanical & Electrical works in progress.

• Able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of various forms of M&E installation.

• Experience working on schemes within hospital environments (desirable).

• Experiences working on schemes within social housing environments (desirable).

• Excellent IT skills (Word, outlook, PDF) use iPad tablets on site for writing reports and viewing documents/drawings.

• Own car (essential).

• Member of ICWCI (desirable).

• Have an up to date CSCS card.

• Must complete an enhanced DBS check once successful in the role.
