Job Title: Privacy Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Counsel to join our in-house legal team at SSQ. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advising on data protection and privacy matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate contractual data protection terms to support delivery of client MSA and SLA agreements.
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments to ensure the firm protects personal data when conducting a broad range of data processing activities.
  • Provide data protection advice on internal and client-facing projects in support of the firm's innovation and change agendas, including in relation to generative AI.
  • Advising in relation to data incidents, data subject rights and regulatory requests, to help the firm manage its relationships with clients, data subjects and regulators.
  • Horizon-scanning and preparation of guidance and training materials, to ensure the firm remains at the leading edge in an environment of fast-paced regulatory change.
  • Dealing with cross-border data protection issues, with global clients and across the company Network.
  • Supervising and developing junior members of the team to deepen our data protection expertise and build resilience.
  • Working alongside diverse teams including in certain European geographies within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

Requirements:

  • 2-5+ PQE lawyer with experience, advising on data privacy and GDPR.
