Fleet Ambassador Job Description

DPD Group UK is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fleet Ambassador to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are checked for condition and road worthiness, and that all drivers are identifying and reporting defects correctly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily checks on all fleet vehicles, including rental vehicles, and record the check and condition via the Vehicle App.
  • Ensure all 3.5 Tonne Vans vehicles do not exceed 3.5 Tonnes in weight using the weighbridge.
  • Check all associated vehicle equipment, including material handling equipment, jump packs, fuel pumps, and enclosure.
  • Ensure the site adheres to health and safety rules, including clear traffic flow and associated parking.
  • Ensure all drivers have the correct DPD Uniform at all times and the vans are up to company standards and are kept clean at all times.

Key Weekly Checks:

  • Record all 21 day notices/7 day notices into a Google Calendar shared with your Transport Team.
  • Review any outstanding 21 day notice letters due with the Depot Quality Manager or Depot manager.
  • Conduct a weekly check and downloading information from the HGV fleet, accounting for any discrepancies.
  • Check Fleet Stock (mirror glasses, lamps, bulbs etc) and reorder as required.
  • Ensure that the gritter is in full working order and clean, during the winter period. Report any defects to your Regional Transport Engineer.

Requirements:

  • Good planning and organising skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively.
  • Ability to cope with change.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and challenging conversations.
  • Able to work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly way following all depot instructions and procedures to include all regulatory requirements e.g Health and Safety.
  • Able to work on your own initiative and without close supervision.
