We are currently seeking a highly skilled Press Tool Design Engineer to join our team. As a member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in designing and developing press tools for the manufacturing of electrical connectors and related products.

Salary: £42,500 - £47,000 per annum.

Job Description:

As a Press Tool Design Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design and develop press tools using CAD software, ensuring they meet all specifications and standards.

You will work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure that all tooling meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development: Create detailed designs for press tools, considering factors such as material selection, tool geometry, and manufacturing processes.
  2. Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate tool designs, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with production and engineering teams to understand requirements and constraints, ensuring seamless integration of new tools into the manufacturing process.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving existing tooling designs and processes, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  5. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all designs, modifications, and testing results.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years in Press Tooling Design, preferably in a similar industry.
  • CAD Skills: Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD design software, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Qualifications: Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
