Bereavement Support Coordinator Role

We are seeking a dedicated Bereavement Support Coordinator to join our team at Mary Stevens Hospice. As a Bereavement Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and practical support to individuals and families who have experienced a loss.



Main Responsibilities


  • Coordinating the delivery and administration of hospice bereavement care.
  • Providing post-bereavement support to family, friends, and carers of hospice patients.
  • Delivering support in individual, family, and group settings as appropriate.
  • Supervising volunteers delivering bereavement care.
  • Working closely with all members of the hospice team to identify clients and deliver service.
  • Sending referrals of clients who may need further support from external agencies.
  • Maintaining working relationships with other external services for effective liaison.

Requirements

In this role, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication skills with awareness of the need for confidentiality, good listening skills, and the ability to adopt an appropriate style and method of communication.



You will also need to have the ability to recognize mental and physical health problems and identify when further advice is required and seek support accordingly.



Additionally, you should have good organizational skills, including information, resources, and time management, up-to-date IT skills, and knowledge of the local area, networks, and communities.
