A leading design consultancy in London is seeking an experienced Building Physics Specialist to join their Energy team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in building physics and significant experience in operational energy and building performance. In this role, you will be responsible for building energy modelling across the business, helping to deliver net zero carbon performance to meet client and national targets. You will also advise clients on how to reduce their carbon emissions in existing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of building performance, including passive design analysis and operational energy assessment.
  • CIBSE TM54 Modelling: Use CIBSE TM54 and NABERS DfP modelling to assess and reduce operational energy consumption.
  • Part L Compliance: Ensure Part L compliance through accurate modelling and data analysis.
  • Energy Statements: Prepare comprehensive energy statements for clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the wider MEP design consultants and attend meetings with architects, engineers, and other building professionals.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in a design consultancy.
  • Certifications: Level 5 Accredited Non-Domestic Energy Assessor, ideally using IES VE.
  • Skills: Proficient with ApHVAC modelling operational energy performance of buildings.
  • Policy Knowledge: Demonstrable experience with London Plan and other planning policy energy statements.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with project teams.
Advantageous Skills
  • NABERS DfP modelling experience.
