Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Airport Maintenance Technician to join our team at AGS Airports. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering maintenance services of airport assets in a safe and cost-effective manner that meets the required quality standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake planned or reactive maintenance work on engineering assets ensuring optimum serviceability and meeting agreed service levels and provides a trouble-free operational environment.
  • Maintenance diagnosis/fault finding on Electrical, Mechanical, and electronic assets associated with the airport.
  • Undertake maintenance tasks outside of core skills.
  • Use prevailing AIAL IT and work management systems as required, including receiving and closing down work orders and entering accurate data.
  • Ensure all maintenance and engineering task records are updated in accordance with regulatory commitments.
  • Operate and promote working practices that ensure a safe working environment for self and others, contributing to the development of a safety culture, through participation in safety management systems, and adhering to mandatory regulations and safety procedures.
  • Engage proactively in any work associated with delivering performance improvements within the engineering environment.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and maintenance team colleagues on the progress of completing work.
  • Work with others, including colleagues or apprentices on a one-to-one basis to help them learn.
  • Proactively upgrade skills to facilitate the maintenance and operation of new assets being delivered into service to ensure they are maintained in a manner that keeps them performing at an appropriate level.
  • Participate in task risk assessments and utilize them and method statements in the completion of all maintenance tasks ensuring that the work is undertaken safely and meets the required specification.
  • Work with others, including colleagues or trainees on a one-to-one basis to enable a broadening of the skill and knowledge base of the whole workforce to deliver the best possible customer service, including a cross-fertilization of skills associated with airport-specific and specialist equipment.
  • Work with the AIAL Security Management Team to promote the Security Management System (SeMs) culture within the department and across the wider airport campus with a focus on adherence to the principles within the AIAL Security Policy. Provide or seek guidance from AIAL Security to encourage the team to report all suspicious or security-related incidents in a timely manner to Security or the Police or Airport Duty Manager. Cascade all relevant security-related information to the team in a timely manner including advice in response to security-related incidents.


Requirements

  • Completed a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship in either Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, or Building Services discipline.
  • Work to promote the development and effective and efficient working of the AMA and all other related processes which underpin all maintenance work activities.
  • The technician is required to work within a wide range of local business and external policies, procedures, and regulations when carrying out their role.
  • Maintenance of assets must meet the standards agreed in Service Level Agreements between the maintenance function and the business units and deliver the Key Performance Indicator's for the function.
  • Technicians may be required to monitor the work quality of contract maintenance providers.
