Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Building Services Engineering Professional to join our team at MOTT MACDONALD LIMITED in Bristol. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in building services engineering, working on various projects across the globe.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, utilizing software programs such as CAD and BIM to create detailed plans and designs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start their career in building services engineering, with training provided to achieve a Level 3 standard in Building Services Engineering Technician. The company offers a supportive environment and regular training throughout your employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed plans, diagrams, drawings, and other documentation
  • Use CAD and software programs to create plans and design new systems
  • Utilize Building Information Modelling (BIM) to coordinate systems
  • Design equipment for use on-site, as required
  • Attend and contribute to meetings internally and externally with clients
  • Ensure all systems adhere to health and safety requirements
  • Work flexibly and manage your workload effectively
  • Have a good attention to detail, with high-quality outputs expected
  • Develop designs for engineering services to make buildings comfortable places to be
  • Utilize discipline-specific software to aid design development
  • Assist in advising on optimal energy usage and methods to reduce environmental impact
  • Visit sites to inspect works designed by Mott Macdonald
  • Work alongside professionals in the built environment, including engineers, surveyors, and architects

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with CAD and BIM software
  • Strong IT skills and ability to learn new software
  • Initiative and ability to work flexibly

Training and Development:

  • Building Services Engineering Technician level 3 standard
  • Level 4 qualification in Construction and Built Environment
  • Internal 2-year 'develop your future' training program
