Role Overview

We are working with a leading Engineering firm that is experiencing exciting growth and offering excellent career opportunities. As a key member of the Siamo Recruitment team, a division of Siamo Group, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Production Control and Logistics department.

This role supports the site's operational efficiency by leading, developing, and continuously improving the PC&L department. You will be responsible for owning the control of production, setting the Manufacturing Production Schedule (MPS), co-ordinating build sequences, and ensuring kitted material is provided on time from the Stores Team.

You will work closely with the Production Manager, Head of Programs, and Supply Chain manager to ensure that customer deliveries are well planned, coordinated, and executed. The successful applicant will form part of the Supply Chain Department and play a pivotal role in the site's daily and weekly operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Production Control and Logistics Team, including performance management, development, and contributing to site engagement and improvement activities.
  • Create and update the Manufacturing Production Schedule (MPS) in conjunction with the production manager to ensure that the shop floor is well planned and executing as per customer requirements.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure alignment between the customer-facing team, supplier-facing teams, and internal-facing teams.
  • Ensure the shop floor is serviced with raw materials to achieve 100% achievement of the MPS.
  • Support and motivate the kitting team, ensuring they are well-directed and effective in their roles.
  • Manage inventory levels in the stores area, ensuring regular cycle counting takes place and implementing plans to maintain a healthy level of inventory.
  • Deliver functional improvement activities across the PC&L department to enhance team governance, visual management, KPI management, and improve the physical environment.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with desirable skills in Supply Chain Management and Project Management.
  • Proven track record in a similar position at a similar level, demonstrating professional communication skills and the ability to work proactively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced with working with ERP and MRP systems, such as SAP or Epicor, and able to demonstrate negotiation, persuasion, and influence skills at a senior level.
  • Positive, enthusiastic individual with a track record of making significant improvements in areas of expertise, driven by data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with Power BI an advantage but not essential.
What We Offer

The salary for this role is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
