Estimated salary: $95,000 - $110,000 per annum.

About the Role

This role will be responsible for enabling the delivery of work in complex environments, removing unnecessary obstacles while maintaining robust compliance with Ionising Radiations legislation and policies.

  • To develop and execute detailed radiological protection programmes in support of project delivery.
  • To provide expert-level advice on Radiological Protection matters to ensure compliance with Ionising Radiation Regulations and any mandatory company and/or client policies on sites.
  • To take a leading role within the Radiological Protection team, acting as the responsible point of contact for Radiological Protection on project work.
  • To support the development of Project Execution Plans to ensure a fit-for-purpose approach is taken to each project.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement Radiological Protection arrangements for projects, including documentation such as Radiological Risk Assessments, Radiological Design Documents, Critical Examinations, Dose Estimates, Local Rules, Contingency Plans, and Investigation Reports.
  • Review radiological monitoring data for operational packages of work.
  • Advise on radioactive waste aspects of project as required, with support from other specialists if necessary.
  • Work with projects and clients to help solve complex and challenging problems while maintaining excellent relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Sometimes direct Graduate Trainees and Assistant Radiation Protection Engineers as required.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Educated to NQF Level 6 (Bachelor's Degree or equivalent) in a scientific or engineering related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent capability supported by significant experience.
  • The ability to manage a workload with low levels of supervision.
  • A basic level of commercial awareness.
