Job Description

AA Euro Group is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in a Site Based Quantity Surveyor role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing civil, groundworks, and construction packages for industrial plant projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and value selected subcontract packages to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Evaluate changes from revised drawings and site inspections, adhering to contractual measurement rules and rates.
  • Develop and issue comprehensive cost reports, forecasting commercial status and cash flow, and identifying trends and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Participate in technical and commercial site meetings, issuing minutes of meeting and administering subcontracts to protect the company's contractual and financial position.
  • Administer subcontract payments in accordance with company procedures and contract requirements.
  • Document commercial aspects of changes, deviations, and claims in a project management information system (PMIS).
  • Manage claims for designated subcontract packages, establishing a strategy for dealing with claims and collating supporting documentation.
  • Report on commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Lead subcontract commercial negotiations and account meetings, including preparation of subcontract final accounts.
  • Support the Contract Manager in establishing documentation for insurance purposes and providing supporting information to insurers in the event of a claim.
  • Provide commercial advice to support ancillary site functions.
  • Procure minor works and finishing works packages with support from head office personnel.
  • Provide return of experience per contract package through ongoing feedback to head office and final account close-out reports.
Requirements
  • Quantity Surveyor with 5+ years' experience in managing civil, groundworks, and construction packages.
  • Specific experience in remeasuring work packages for industrial plant construction.
  • Profound knowledge of applicable remeasurement rules, such as CESMM4, SMM7, and NRM.
  • Experience in industrial plant and major projects delivery.
  • Proficient with standard form and bespoke contracts, with FIDIC an advantage.
  • Assertive, diligent, proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-oriented team player.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times.
  • Demonstrate good technical knowledge of construction processes.
  • Protect the reputation and integrity of the company by adhering to strict compliance and confidentiality obligations.
  • Work independently and have foresight to develop methods and procedures to enhance project success.
  • Good standard of written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Office and recognized industry applications.
  • Work within company policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Member (or working towards Membership of) RICS or similar an advantage.
