Exciting Opportunity for Data Science Undergraduates

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Science undergraduate to join our team at LexisNexis Risk Solutions Group (RSG) as part of our 13-month placement programme. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a real-world setting, working on cutting-edge projects that impact the risk data analytics industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be immersed in a structured and well-developed placement within our Risk Solutions business. As a Data Scientist intern, you'll have the chance to work with global data from the largest real-time digital fraud detection platform, crafting solutions for a range of customers. You'll experience how to leverage real-time digital identity intelligence, analyzing billions of transactions per month for some of the largest companies operating in Financial Services, Insurance, and e-Commerce.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your personal and problem-solving skills, working within a collaborative and supportive environment. You'll have the chance to grow professionally and contribute to delivering solutions that protect billions in revenue against motivated attackers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply analytical skills and programming knowledge to leverage our real-time data platform using Python and SQL;
  • Solve complex challenges facing our customers in the ever-changing fraud and risk landscape, requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Use data and statistics to solve real-world problems and promote effective risk models;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybercrime trends and attack methods to deliver meaningful and effective risk models.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A numerical degree, such as Statistics, Machine Learning, or Applied Mathematics;
  • Good programming skills in analytical packages, including Python and SQL;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges;
  • A passion for using data and statistics to solve real-world problems;
  • A desire to understand the latest cybercrime trends and attack methods;
  • The right to work full-time and live in the UK on a permanent basis.
