Collaborate in Bioinformatics Research

We are looking for a talented researcher to join our team in the Bioinformatics department at All Together Now Preschool & Childcare. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing the boundaries of healthcare and medical science through a combination of biology and artificial intelligence expertise.

Our team is expanding a portfolio of successful initiatives across drug discovery, design, and protein engineering. We are developing the next-generation vaccines and biopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment and prevention and therapy of infectious diseases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in machine learning and biology, communicating and applying this knowledge to our projects.
  • Designing, implementing, and delivering performant and scalable algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies using distributed computing systems on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
  • Conducting rigorous data analysis and statistical modelling to explain and improve our models.
  • Reporting results clearly and efficiently, both internally and externally, verbally and in writing.
  • Writing high-quality, maintainable, and modular code together with precise documentation.
  • Collaborating with the business development team in pre-sales activities, including presenting the company to new prospective clients and representing InstaDeep in conferences/events.

Requirements include:

  • A Master's, PhD degree or equivalent experience in applied mathematics, computer science, or a related scientific field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in deep learning, demonstrated via previous work, publications, contributions to open source projects, or coding competitions.
  • Strong software engineering experience in Python, Docker, Linux.
  • Experience using a machine learning framework such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
  • Data science and statistics experience, including data visualisations and statistical testing.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • An appropriate work permit for the considered location.

Desirable qualifications include knowledge of molecular biology, structural biology, -omics, immunology, or a related discipline, as well as experience with specialist computing knowledge such as high-volume data storage and processing, high-performance computing, or deployment.
