Job Summary:

UCH Logistics Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our team as a Fleet Maintenance Specialist. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of HGV and LGV vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Repair or replace faulty components and parts to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Workshop Manager and Transport Manager to ensure seamless communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Provide out-of-hours assistance as required to ensure business continuity.

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven skills in efficient planning and execution of maintenance and inspections
  • MOT preparation experience
  • Modern mechanical and electrical diagnostics and fault-finding skills
  • Accurate and timely defect reporting

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to remain calm and courteous in all situations, with excellent communication skills
  • A Class 1 Licence is desirable
