We are seeking an experienced Senior Indirect Tax Manager to join our Global Tax team. Reporting directly to the Indirect Tax Director, the Senior Indirect Tax Manager will act as an adviser to the Clarivate group on global indirect tax matters.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to leverage their extensive technical knowledge of global indirect taxes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in global indirect taxes, preferably from both practice and industry.

  • Knowledge of global VAT/GST rules relating to Digital/Electronically Supplied Services.
  • Track record of improving indirect tax processes and managing governance.
  • Working with financial systems such as reporting from ERPs, MTD compliant reporting, etc.

The Senior Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for:

  • Be the first point of contact for technical indirect tax queries across the business.
  • Work with the Tax leadership by representing tax on IT projects.
  • Responding to queries raised by tax authorities in connection with the group's activities and VAT compliance matters.
  • Maintaining risk registers and the control framework.
  • Oversee external tax adviser activities and budgets.
  • Support monthly tax compliance and filings.
  • Manage ad hoc projects.
  • Review and approve monthly VAT ledger reconciliations in Blackline.
  • Liaise with the VAT team and, if needed, Treasury/AP to ensure timely and accurate payment of VAT liabilities/allocation of VAT refunds is achieved.
  • Provide requested information (analysed and fit for purpose) for tax authority and/or other audits.
  • Monitor global VAT registration obligations arising for the business by making B2C digital supplies.

About the Team

The role reports to the Indirect Tax Director and is based in the London office. The global Indirect tax team is part of the global centralised tax function, which means that the tax function oversees and advises all group entities.

The Indirect tax team members have extensive knowledge of the global VAT/GST rules in respect of digital services and practical experience with the challenges faced with reporting obligations across the globe.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time permanent position based in London, UK and will require hybrid working in our London office (2-3 days per week in office, rest of week remote). This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
