About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Software Engineering Lead to join our team at Lloyds Banking Group. As a key member of our Everyday Banking Platform, you will be responsible for crafting digital journeys that excite our customers through their ease and immediacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement mobile application features for our labs, focusing on hands-on development and technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, UI/UX designers, and product leads to deliver high-quality mobile app features.
  • Represent the Digital Card & Ways to Pay Lab and the wider Everyday Banking Platform as a technical specialist and authority.
  • Work closely with product and engineering leads to achieve vision and customer outcomes through well-factored and tested code.
Requirements
  • Significant experience as a Senior Android Engineer with a passion for remaining hands-on technical.
  • Excellent programming skills with a deep working knowledge of Kotlin and Java, utilising the Android SDK and Jetpack Compose.
  • Diverse technical experience and a proven track record to deliver high-quality mobile customer experiences across variable screen sizes and Android versions.
  • Advocate for quality and support the team using approaches such as CI/CD best practice, pair programming, secure coding, TDD, and BDD.
Desirable
  • Experience working in the public cloud domain at scale, utilising hosted CI/CD pipeline and integrating the Android app with public cloud APIs.
  • Effective communication and comfortable working across diverse teams.
