Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Development Scientist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our Analytical Services team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of innovative packaging solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of new packaging solutions, including the development of vacuum decay processes and testing of new equipment.
  • Conduct experiments to test the performance of various blister materials and seal integrity analysis equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and develop instructions for use of equipment.
  • Lead the self-inspection audit schedule and communicate findings to the packaging development team.
  • Accumulate and record prior knowledge data from packaging development work packages.
  • Update specifications to ensure accurate information and references.
  • Develop the packaging development strategy for bulk pack analysis, stability, and preferred components.
  • Deliver sustainability assessments of packaging container closure systems and new product introductions.
  • Conduct moisture modeling assessments of packaging container closure systems and oral solid dose products.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, Chemistry, Life Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience in packaging development, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Understanding of design control requirements associated with Medical Devices and Combination Products.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging and technology, regulatory requirements, and R&D processes.
  • Demonstrated track record of accomplishment in delivering projects and working within complex technical organizations.
