We are seeking an individual dedicated to delivering exceptional services for young individuals, guiding and supporting them to realize their potential and attain independence.

You will be an integral part of the Locality team operating in the East North East region. This position will offer housing-related assistance in a 24/7 environment to young people aged 16 to 20, aimed at enhancing their independent living capabilities.

This role is associated with the Young People's Housing Related Support Service, Our Way Leeds (OWL), which is executed by a consortium of service providers. The consortium is led by GIPSIL, in collaboration with Foundation and Turning Lives Around. OWL offers a comprehensive array of interventions to avert homelessness, four categories of supported housing, and pre- and post-tenancy support programs for young individuals and those transitioning from care, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors. The young people we support may be single, part of young families, or couples.

This role will contribute to and be accountable for various aspects of the following:

Utilizing strength-based, restorative, and trauma-informed practices to place young individuals at the forefront of their support. Working autonomously, often in solitary situations for extended periods, providing assistance in a 24/7 living environment for young people transitioning to independent living. Facilitating support to ensure young individuals acquire domestic skills, parenting abilities, life skills, social competencies, and behavior management techniques, as appropriate, to maintain a tenancy and home. Collaborating with the young person, professionals, and close family members to develop and implement a support plan and risk assessment. Playing a vital role in ensuring a seamless transition to the night support staff.
