Geological Materials Extractor

We are seeking an experienced Mine Worker to join our team at SLB. The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting crude materials like barite and bentonite from mines, operating heavy equipment, monitoring performance, and performing maintenance as required.

Duties:

• Operate underground trucks and loaders to transport materials efficiently.
• Conduct drilling operations to extract geological samples.
• Assist with shot firing operations to safely manage mining activities.
• Install mine services such as cables, water pipes, and ventilation ducting.
• Perform maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in optimal condition.
• Participate in mine cycle safety work, including roof scaling, roof bolting, and mesh installation.
• Provide on-the-job training to new team members.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Operate mining production equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any deviations to management.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
• Ensure equipment is well-maintained using preventative maintenance systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
• Work comfortably in the underground environment.
• Ideal candidates have experience operating modern diesel equipment and manual aspects of the role.
• A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience is required, and a police record check may be necessary due to handling explosives.
