The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance engineering, with experience in managing complex material handling equipment (MHE) and automation systems. A solid understanding of PLC-based control systems and CMMS software is also essential. Strong communication and leadership skills are required to coach and mentor technicians, and to develop and maintain good working relationships across all levels of the organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safety regulations and policies are adhered to, conducting preventative maintenance on time, and providing high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement. The role involves working in a non-traditional shift pattern, which may include nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and enforce health and safety best practices, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and policies.
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise (SME) in MHE and automation systems, coaching and mentoring technicians as needed.
- Support the line manager and supervise shifts in their absence.
- Provide high levels of equipment availability by troubleshooting and prioritizing tasks.
- Support continuous improvement of systems across the EU network.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Manage contractors and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A multi-skilled background in electrical and mechanical disciplines, with relevant experience in automation or complex MHE environments.
- Solid foundational knowledge of PLC-based controls systems.
- Experience using CMMS software to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
Proven ability to supervise and influence others, as well as experience of multi-contractor management, are also desirable.
Working EnvironmentThis role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be part of a close-knit team that values collaboration and open communication.
