Role Overview:
As a Manufacturing Design Engineering Manager, you will lead the team responsible for designing and developing improvements to product and processes to support manufacturing growth, new products, and continuous improvement projects. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills to drive excellence in meeting technical standards and processes.

About the Job:
The successful candidate will have a degree in an Engineering or Manufacturing subject or hold an equivalent level of experience. They will possess strong experience in leading manufacturing processes and quality control methods, along with troubleshooting and analytical skills to lead and guide the team to provide solutions and technical support effectively. The estimated salary for this position is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the team that develops, implements, and maintains process flow and manufacturing documentation to allow products built with optimized cycle time and best quality.
- Actively involve supplier management activities, such as incoming quality issue resolution, new supplier qualification, or QBR meetings.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support for system-level challenges.
- Owning end-to-end yield and scrap rate, including weekly yield reports, failure analysis, and implementing improvement actions for higher yield and lower scrap rate.
- Closely work with planning and production teams to plan engineering resources to support any ramp-up or material shortages.
- Interface closely with design teams and act as a manufacturing representative in key design review meetings and as part of New Product Development teams.
- Help establish new manufacturing processes and assist design engineering with prototype builds.
- Establish equipment control systems, including new equipment commission procedures, regular checks, maintenance, and calibration.
- Manage the quality system by completing failure analysis of all issues seen internally and in the field.
- Monitor daily activities of the team and ensure support to the shop floor for all build plans and meeting shipment schedules.

Your Skills & Qualifications:
Ideally, you have a degree in an Engineering or Manufacturing subject or hold an equivalent level of experience. Strong experience in leading manufacturing processes and quality control methods is essential. You possess troubleshooting and analytical skills to lead and guide the team to provide solutions and technical support effectively. Knowledge of semiconductor processes (PVD/CVD, etch, litho, etc.) and familiarity with temperature sensors (RTD, IC, etc.) and clean room compatible materials are highly desirable.
