Management Accountant

About the Role:
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary is seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing technical business partnering in all aspects of monthly financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will work closely with the Finance Business Partners to provide financial advice, analysis, and coaching to budget holders and their staff. Your expertise will be essential in implementing corrective action on receipt of early warning of variances from budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical business partnering in all aspects of monthly financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Work with the Finance Business Partners to provide financial advice, analysis, and coaching to budget holders and their staff.
• Implement corrective action on receipt of early warning of variances from budgets.
• Coordinate and lead the budgeting and forecasting exercises, receiving financial submissions, consolidating, and incorporating into the medium-term financial plan for their allocated portfolio.
• Ensure the organisation is following the principles of managing public money.
• Support with tracking and modelling the financials and providing technical input to key projects, business cases, and reports for management groups and committees.
• Provide other ad-hoc analysis and participate in various financial exercises as required.
Requirements:
• AAT Qualified or actively studying towards a professional qualification with a recognised accountancy body (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
• 2-3 years' experience in an accountancy environment within industry/public sector.
• Highly competent and experienced in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning systems and MS Office applications, especially advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Confident in the use of virtual meeting platforms to facilitate key stakeholder communications.
• Previous experience of providing management reporting and facilitating budgeting and forecasting processes would be a significant advantage.
• Experience of working in a large multi-unit matrix organisation would be beneficial.
