Senior Systems Engineering Consultant

Multiple locations available - Bristol, Manchester, Aldershot, Reading, Birmingham, Glasgow

Hybrid available

£40,000 - £75,000 + excellent benefits + joining bonus

As a Senior Systems Engineering Consultant, you will work with teams that use Systems Thinking to analyse, assess and develop solutions to their most complex challenges. You will help our clients unlock their full potential to innovate, underpinned by a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) ethos. We have a huge variety of projects, ranging from niche consultancy projects to large, high-profile programmes.

Your Purpose - Senior Systems Engineering Consultant
  1. Provide consultancy to client project and engineering managers.
  2. Lead the use of best practice techniques and tools on client and internal projects.
  3. Champion a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to solving client issues.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to achieve successful client decision milestones.
  5. Deliver identified engineering outputs within time, cost, and quality constraints as part of an engineering service to a client.
  6. Proactively identify opportunities and contribute to ADS&T growth.
  7. Contribute to the development of our people through mentoring and coaching.
Desired Skills & Experience - Senior Systems Engineering Consultant
  1. The use of MBSE approaches and tools (e.g. Sparx EA, Cameo).
  2. Knowledge of modelling languages and architecture frameworks, e.g., UML/SysML, ArchiMate, TOGAF, MODAF.
  3. Requirements engineering and its link to verification and validation.
  4. Knowledge of engineering lifecycles, their selection, tailoring and implementation.
  5. Working on the integration of complex systems, including military civilian platforms (submarines, aircraft, ships, and vehicles), civilian aircraft systems and advanced power and energy systems.
  6. Applying systems engineering processes (e.g., ISO 15288:2023) across the lifecycle.
  7. Managing projects and teams within different development methods.
  8. Understanding of engineering within the MOD's acquisition framework, Knowledge in Defence (KiD).
  9. Strong interpersonal skills and able to build trusted relationships.
  10. Ability to understand, simplify and explain subject matter to non-engineers and senior stakeholders.
