Job Title: AVP - Internal Control

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an AVP - Internal Control. This role will be based in Tokyo and will report directly to the Regional CEO, Chief of Staff for EMEA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing executive support to the Regional CEO, Chief of Staff for EMEA, and will be the primary point of contact for Tokyo-based stakeholders. This will involve coordinating with various departments and teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Regional CEO, Chief of Staff for EMEA in executing tasks and projects assigned by them.
  • Liaise between Head Office divisions in Tokyo and divisions/branches in EMEA to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Communicate and negotiate with Tokyo/EMEA stakeholders on assigned matters, including interpreting between English and Japanese as necessary.
  • Compile regular reporting to Head Office and create and manage documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as required.
  • Schedule meetings, take minutes, and arrange conferences and events as necessary.
  • Support the implementation of strategic projects in multiple areas, including enhancing EMEA staff's information security awareness and preventing information leakage incidents.
  • Design and carry out training programs, review policies and procedures, and approve exceptions to procedures.
  • Monitor incidents and take preventative measures, and support projects such as policy alignment between group entities and the implementation of Data Loss Prevention systems.
  • Manage self-checks of compliance to internal rules and report to Head Office, and handle administrative tasks for the Office of the Chief of Staff for EMEA.
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence as necessary, and maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders across the region and globally.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financing businesses, both globally and regionally, and will be fluent in English and Japanese, both written and oral. They will also have good working knowledge of Japanese business culture or experience of adapting to and working with different cultures.

The successful candidate will be a well-developed communicator with the ability to negotiate and settle issues with stakeholders, and will be a good team worker with the ability to prioritize and drive deadlines.
