Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to support the company's expansion and succession plans. The successful candidate will lead, manage, and develop production staff to enhance team performance, plan and schedule production activities, and monitor production metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage Production Staff: Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
- Plan and Schedule Production Activities: Coordinate production schedules, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor Production Metrics: Track and analyze production metrics, including productivity, utilization, and OEE, to identify areas for improvement.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements, lean initiatives, and cost-saving measures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage Equipment Maintenance: Oversee equipment maintenance programs to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Prepare Business Cases: Develop business cases for equipment procurement and other production investments to support business growth.
Future Development Opportunities: The role offers scope for further responsibility in areas such as purchasing and materials management, warehouse operations, and production control.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of Three Years of Experience: In production supervision/management within a manufacturing environment.
- Preferably: Experience in sheet metal fabrication or a similar industry.
- Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to manage change, lead teams, and bring people along on that journey.
- Strategic Thinking: Proactive approach to process improvement, with a focus on customer support and innovation.
- Qualifications: In engineering, lean manufacturing, or business are advantageous.
- Familiarity with Quality, Environmental, and Safety Management Systems: A plus.
What's On Offer:
- Competitive Salary: Ranging from £40,000 to £50,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- Profit-Sharing Bonus Scheme: Eligible for a bonus scheme.
- Flexitime and Holiday Entitlement: 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing to 35 days with service.
