About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant General Manager to join our team at Drake and Morgan. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in driving the success of our bars and restaurants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a culture of customer feedback and engagement, ensuring regular guests feel valued and recognized.
  • Cover and manage the venue in the absence of the General Manager, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service.
  • Implement actions to continuously improve the guest experience, driven by customer feedback and insights.
  • Ensure prompt and efficient response to customer requests and feedback, both verbal and written.
  • Maintain high standards of restaurant and personal presentation, ensuring good personal hygiene and a clean, welcoming environment.
  • Execute common objectives seamlessly and professionally, working closely with the team to achieve shared goals.
  • Manage sales and conversion, supporting the implementation of revenue generation initiatives.
  • Assist in management and running of staff meetings, ensuring the team is fully briefed and action points are recorded and achieved.
  • Stay informed of menu changes, special requirements, and outstanding orders or work tasks, ensuring the team is aware and prepared.
  • Supervise and motivate staff on all aspects of their work, ensuring they are well-briefed and equipped to deliver exceptional service.
  • Review and communicate financial information to inform proactive and timely decision-making.
  • Manage monthly stock-takes, reviewing results and variances with relevant departments.
  • Ensure adherence to in-house control systems and audit requirements.
  • Maintain or develop specific departmental control systems to meet or exceed food and beverage margins.
  • Control costs without compromising standards and customer experience, strictly managing wastages and implementing correct practices and procedures.
  • Forecast potential revenues and costs for revenue/cost centres, with particular reference to labour forecasting.
  • Build and maintain an efficient team of employees, driving the team towards business objectives.
  • Support the recruitment and selection of employees to agreed staffing levels, using cost-effective recruitment methods.
  • Manage employee performance in line with job descriptions, providing regular feedback and appraisals.
  • Assist in managing disciplinary and grievance issues within the department, in consultation with the General and Operations Managers.
  • Ensure all departmental staff work hygienically and productively, maintaining a safe workplace by identifying and reporting hazards and taking corrective action.
  • Review and communicate health and safety audit reports, initiating required action with relevant departments.
  • Identify maintenance activity required to uphold the required standard, forwarding these to the General Manager.
