At Portfolio Verlag, we are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Communications Director to lead the development of our scientific communication platform. This role will be responsible for driving the development, implementation, and dissemination of strategic global scientific communication plans aligned with our Therapeutic Areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute global scientific communication plans for assigned launch assets/disease areas.
- Collaborate with Therapeutic Area teams to develop scientific communication platforms, including scientific statements, lexicon, and scientific narrative.
- Lead cross-functional publication teams and develop global publication plans.
- Utilize enterprise thinking to execute on strategy and tactics, with a focus on high-quality stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and track value and impact measuring of the scientific communication plan in partnership with therapeutic areas, CE&E, and integrated insights team.
- Responsible for congress scientific communications, including data interpretation in collaboration with GMD/GDD/NIBR and Therapeutic Area.
- Develop internal global communications and education for Novartis products.
- Establish strong working relationships and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage all aspects of publication and medical education agencies in support of scientific communications.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and Novartis requirements for scientific communications.
- 7+ years' experience in pharmaceutical industry or healthcare related, ideally in publication planning and/or medical education activities.
- Experience in developing communication strategies and key scientific platforms.
- Ability to provide strategic insight and functional guidance into scientific expert development activities, publication planning, and developing medical education.
- Experience in driving the development of scientific messaging and execution of publications.
- Proven ability to communicate complex medical and scientific concepts to lay audiences.
- Thorough understanding of internal/external ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strategic mindset with innovation and critical thinking.
