Steps Together Group, a leading provider of wellbeing and addiction treatment services, seeks an experienced Financial Controller to drive financial growth and maintain the organisation's integrity.
Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £37,000.00 per year, along with additional benefits including performance bonus, yearly bonus, company events, company pension, discounted or free food, flexitime, free parking, on-site parking, and additional leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and reconciliations.
- Coordinate budget preparation and financial forecasting, reporting variances on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and publish monthly financial statements and performance reports for senior leadership teams.
- Collaborate with external accountancy and payroll services to ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
- Develop and maintain business processes and accounting policies to ensure internal controls are in place.
- Streamline and improve accounting systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage cash flow, debt, and debt collection effectively.
- Supervise and develop finance staff through regular supervision and professional development.
- Support the completion of statutory accounts and year-end accounting requirements.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making processes, including capital investment strategies, revenue growth initiatives, and cost reduction measures.
- Present financial performance reports to stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and leadership.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- A strong proficiency in accounting software and excellent analytical skills.
- The ability to lead and motivate finance staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A deep understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
