Breast Screening Service Overview

The Breast Screening service at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is a renowned provider of breast screening services, with a history dating back to 1989. As part of the National NHS Breast Screening programme in the UK, our team has consistently delivered outstanding results.

Our service is based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital and serves a significant population in Kent and Medway. The team is led by the Director of Breast Screening, who is responsible for the safe and effective provision of the local breast screening service. The role involves leadership, management, performance, quality, governance, and overall accountability.

We are a large hospital trust with three acute hospitals and community sites, serving a population of around 700,000. Our trust also provides specialist services for Kent and Medway. We are committed to transformation, with a focus on research, clinical leadership, and making our trust a rewarding and friendly place to work.
