As a Strategic Research Manager at Thurn Partners, you will play a critical role in driving the transition into blending fundamental equity insights with systematic strategies, focusing on scaling new approaches to extract alpha and enhance P&L performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equity research with a proven track record of uncovering alpha-generating insights in global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of researchers in identifying and analyzing opportunities in global equities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to incorporate fundamental insights into systematic investment models.
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and quantitative researchers to drive alpha generation through a combination of fundamental market knowledge and quantitative techniques.
  • Bulk and maintain robust frameworks for integrating diverse data sources, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Engage in the entire research lifecycle, including hypothesis development, data analysis, model creation, back-testing, and performance evaluation.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the PM and broader platform leadership, contributing to long-term diversification initiatives.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in equity research with a proven track record of uncovering alpha-generating insights in global markets.
  • Experience working within a systematic or hybrid investment framework, ideally within a hedge fund or asset management setting.
  • Deep understanding of fundamental equity analysis, including sector, industry, and company-level drivers.
  • Proficiency in fundamental - bottom up - analysis and a clear investment approach.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence portfolio decisions and contribute to P&L growth.
  • Leadership experience, with the capability to mentor and grow a research team.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • This is a full-time, on-site role based in London. Remote or contract applications will not be considered.

Compensation: £150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
