Practice Nurse

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Practice Nurse to join our Lambeth Walk Group Practice team. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat patients with minor illnesses: Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective, and remain within the boundaries of your competence. Acknowledge your limitations and refer patients to other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments: Provide guidance on healthy living, minor ailments, and refer patients to other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Support patients in adopting healthy lifestyles: Encourage patients to adopt healthy habits and promote self-care.
- Utilize sensitive communication styles: Ensure patients are fully informed and consent to treatment.
- Recognize and work within your competence: Recognize your professional code of conduct and work within your scope of practice.
- Produce accurate patient records: Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and complete records of patient consultations.
- Prioritize and manage workload: Prioritize, organize, and manage your workload to maintain quality.
- Deliver care according to guidelines: Provide care according to NSF, NICE guidelines, and evidence-based care.
Other Responsibilities:
- Chronic disease management: Manage patients with diabetes, COPD, asthma, hypertension, and other chronic conditions.
- Foot checks: Perform routine foot checks and provide guidance on foot care.
- Dietary advice: Provide advice on healthy eating and nutrition.
- Health screenings: Conduct health screenings, including cervical screening, contraception review, and general health advice.
- Immunizations: Administer routine immunizations and vaccinations.
Requirements:
- NMC registration: Hold a current NMC registration.
- Experience: Have at least 4 years of experience in general practice.
- Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
