About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Old Age Community team based at our Sydervelt Centre. The team provides services mainly to patients with dementia and elderly patients in our catchment area.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership for the assessment and management of dementia patients in community and functional older adults in the catchment area.
  • Be the Approved Clinician for patients detained under the Community Treatment Order.
  • Provide clinical supervision to trainees and specialty doctors.
  • Carry out duties as Responsible Clinician, including Mental Health Act assessments, preparation of tribunal reports, and giving oral evidence at managers hearings and mental health review tribunals.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Registration with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register OR within six months.
