Electrical Estimator Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team at Streamline Search, a technical recruitment agency based in the United Kingdom. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of electrical installation projects across different sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical engineering projects, taking into account project requirements and specifications.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings and specifications to ensure estimates are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with design and installation teams to ensure estimates reflect project requirements and are aligned with company goals.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather relevant information to inform estimates.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Prepare bid proposals and ensure timely submission of estimates to clients.
  • Analyse and assess project risks to ensure all contingencies are accounted for and estimates are accurate.
  • Monitor ongoing projects to compare actual costs with estimates and adjust future estimates accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the electrical contracting industry.
  • Experience in 2-3 relevant sectors, including commercial, educational, food, accommodation, and industrial.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and engineering principles.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A relevant electrical engineering or related qualification is preferred.
