Job Details
Fife Council's Out of School Clubs are part of the Education Directorate, providing childcare services to school-aged children before and after school, as well as during school holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and supervise activities with children and young people, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Organize play areas, provide suitable materials and equipment, and ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Encourage independence, self-esteem, and the development of new skills and experiences.
- Provide nutritious snacks, taking into account dietary and nutritional needs.
- Support children and young people on an individual basis when required.
- Deal with injuries and emergencies, following established protocols.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Assist the Senior Childcare Practitioner with record-keeping and administrative tasks.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children and young people in a play, care, or learning setting.
- Is willing to work towards the SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or already holds a suitable qualification.
- Is enthusiastic, adaptable, and passionate about working with children and young people.

You are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
