About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant Radiographer to join our team in Breast Imaging. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality imaging services to patients with breast-related conditions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mammography and ultrasound, with experience in image interpretation, interventional procedures, and patient assessment. You will be expected to work autonomously, prioritizing and managing your workload effectively, and contributing to the development of the imaging service.

We are looking for a professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can work effectively with clinicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals. You will be required to lead, supervise, and mentor other team members, providing a model of expert practice and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality imaging services to patients with breast-related conditions
  • Interpret mammographic and ultrasound images, and report findings to clinicians
  • Perform interventional procedures, including biopsies and localizations
  • Assess patients with breast-related conditions, and develop treatment plans
  • Lead and supervise other team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Contribute to the development of the imaging service, working closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • DCR, BSc Radiography or equivalent qualification
  • Qualification in 3 advanced practice disciplines: Image Interpretation, Interventional Procedures, and Ultrasound of the Breast
  • Full Masters level qualification in Mammography
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Clinical Registration with the HCPC
  • Specialist training working towards or having achieved Doctoral Level Qualification
  • Qualification in clinical examination of the Breast
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Postgraduate courses/qualifications in management/leadership
  • Postgraduate teaching qualification
