Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Network Development to join our team at Vallum Associates.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power system planning and analysis, with managerial experience in the dynamic utility industry.

This role involves identifying new business opportunities, maintaining a healthy pipeline of work, and promoting a collaborative team environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new business opportunities and areas for growth
  • Maintaining a healthy pipeline of work for the department
  • Promoting a collaborative and high-performing team environment within the department
  • Creating and organizing framework agreements with key clients
  • Recruiting and training staff to ensure the department has the necessary skills to complete projects
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing consultants within the department
  • Staff development and line management
  • Representing the division, team, and organization at networking gatherings, conferences, and seminars

Requirements include an electrical engineering degree, over eight years of experience in the regulated energy sector, and expertise in power systems analysis and network modeling.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An electrical engineering degree or a degree in another relevant field
  • More than eight years of experience in the regulated energy sector
  • Previous experience working for a consulting firm
  • Expertise in power systems analysis and network modeling
  • Demonstrated experience managing and directing technical teams with more than ten members
  • Oversight of significant engineering initiatives
  • A business understanding of consulting projects, including project budgeting and risk management
  • Prior experience in client-facing roles and company development
  • Ability to interact with clients and build enduring relationships

Chartered status is desirable. The estimated salary for this role is around $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on experience.
