Job Title: VAT Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Accountant to join our team at Hays Senior Finance. As a VAT Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of European entities with tax regulations, including VAT returns and corporation tax returns. You will also be responsible for reviewing VAT % applied to new products and performing quarterly reviews of all products sold.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure European entities comply with tax regulations, including VAT returns and corporation tax returns.
  • Review VAT % applied to new products and perform quarterly reviews of all products sold.
  • Minimise VAT liabilities and compliance issues.
  • Prepare and submit tax-related reporting for US Group Finance and Tax teams.
  • Advise local teams on US tax-related matters impacting local operations and accounting.
  • Perform quarterly local GAAP and US GAAP ETR calculation/FIN48 review.
  • Be involved in tax reporting, advisory, and compliance work.
  • Act as a point of contact for Corporation Tax and indirect tax questions.
  • Stay ahead of key corporate tax and indirect tax legislation to ensure business compliance.
  • Assist with tax compliance of intercompany transactions.
  • Perform ad-hoc income tax research and tax planning.
  • Manage tax audits/queries from tax authorities.

Requirements:

We are looking for a qualified tax accountant or someone with significant experience in indirect tax across European jurisdictions. You may have corporate tax experience or be willing to learn and develop your knowledge in this area.

What We Offer:

You will receive a salary dependent on experience up to £85,000, plus full benefits.
