Mechanical Engineer Role

**Job Description:**
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Gov Facility Services Ltd (GFSL), a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience working in a commercial or industrial setting.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, including heating and water systems
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8
- Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve smooth and safe operation of HMP Grendon
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to minimize downtime and ensure efficient use of resources
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues as needed
**Requirements:**
- Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent
- Familiarity with and ability to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
- Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
