Kenton Black Finance is a leading recruitment agency specializing in finance and accounting placements. We have partnered exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business on the Fylde Coast to find a highly skilled Assistant Management Accountant for one of their smaller divisions.

Job Summary

This is a varied role that includes routine accounting duties as well as project involvement relating to implementing new processes to streamline and enhance existing ways of working within finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing existing processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review and improve existing financial processes and systems
  2. Support in the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack
  3. Posting journals, accruals, and prepayments
  4. Balance sheet reconciliations
  5. Support with quarterly VAT returns
  6. Maintenance of the fixed asset register
  7. Assist with cash flow forecast preparation
  8. Support with the delivery of the annual budgets and customer forecasts
  9. Project involvement including budgetary control and tracking/reporting on project spend
  10. Assist with stock taking from a financial perspective
  11. Liaise with non-financial managers to deliver financial insight and advise as required
  12. KPI reporting

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in a similar role, including producing accounts and working cross-functionally with various stakeholders. They will have excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
