Autism Specialist Support Worker

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special school in Tiverton. As a specialist support worker, you will be working with young people with high-functioning autism and/or ADHD.
As a key member of our close-knit 'learning family', you will be responsible for supporting students in various capacities, including collaborating with classroom teachers to enhance learning experiences, developing and implementing core subject interventions, and leading lessons during PPA cover.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our dedicated team of educators and support staff to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support students: Collaborate with classroom teachers to enhance learning experiences for students with high-functioning autism and/or ADHD.
- Develop interventions: Assist in developing and implementing core subject interventions tailored to support individual students' personal and academic growth.
- Lead lessons: Take charge of the class during PPA cover, delivering pre-planned lessons.
- Possession of HLTA status.
- Previous experience in education, preferably in a special school setting.
- A genuine passion for working with young people, particularly those with additional needs.
- A proactive and resilient approach to challenges.
- An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including guarantee pay scheme opportunities, permanent job roles, and support and advice during the clearance and onboarding process.
