Job Summary:

The post holder will be responsible for the management and supervision of the electrical engineering maintenance team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. This will involve providing day-to-day supervision and support to the team to ensure that the electrical engineering section is able to provide a safe, courteous, and efficient service to the hospital's users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and managerial guidance, support, and advice to the team to ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, Trust safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Administer and be responsible for good timekeeping and staff discipline, maintaining accurate records of staff annual leave and sickness, ensuring that adequate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Cascade training and information received to the team through 'toolbox' talks, group sessions, and one-to-one instruction as appropriate.
  • Canvas the ideas and concerns of team members to inform and aid safe and efficient management and feed into departmental committees/senior estates management as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and administer staff leave and sickness.
