About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Defence IT capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to join our team and contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of Work Packages that enhance IT capabilities within the Ministry of Defence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-level and low-level designs to support Full Business Cases.
  • Review and validate solution designs to ensure alignment with Secure By Design principles.
  • Collaborate with governance teams to secure approval for proposed designs.
  • Identify and manage technical risks associated with IT capabilities.
  • Contribute to high-level designs, proof of concept developments, cost estimates, roadmaps, and incremental delivery schedules.

What You'll Bring

To thrive in this role, you'll need a proven ability to design, develop, and deliver IT solutions within highly regulated environments.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Expertise in developing high-level and low-level designs.
  • Knowledge of Secure by Design principles and their application (JSP440).
  • Experience with End User Services (EUS) within the MoD; Delivery of on-premises capabilities, preferably within the MoD.
  • Familiarity with key standards and frameworks: JSP604 (including technical documentation requirements); JSP453; NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, NIST 800-37, and NIST 800-53.
  • Domain knowledge of MoD design authority and approval processes.
  • Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
