Maintenance Engineer

The Plant Maintenance Engineer position is a key role within Macfarlane Packaging, responsible for maintaining, modifying, and installing plant, services, and facilities across the company's sites. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading packaging manufacturer and contribute to the company's commitment to customer satisfaction, sustainability, and continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve Health and Safety in line with company procedures and statutory regulations.
- Perform mechanical maintenance, including motors, drives, gearboxes, etc.
- Implement and adhere to Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules.
- Work independently and in a team to complete tasks and projects.
- Be proactive in improving processes and plant through a constructive project-based approach.
Requirements
- Electrical, 17th / 18th edition, C&G qualification or NVQ 3.
- Fault finding electrical installations and machinery.
- Able to read electrical drawings.
- Electrical safety systems.
- Motor drives and controls.
- Multi-skilled with electrical bias.
- Flexible.
- Problem solver.
- Computer literate.
- Good communication skills.
- Punctual.
- Presentable.
- Able to lead by example.
- Positive attitude.
Desired Qualifications / Experience
- Mechanical experience / qualification.
- Welding / fabrication.
- Machining (turning).
- Bearings, Gearboxes, Mechanical drive systems.
- Hydraulics.
- Pneumatics.
- PLC.
- Able to test and inspect electrical installations to BC7671.
