Clinical Manager

About the Role:
The Clinical Manager will be responsible for overseeing the bed management process in a psychiatric hospital. This involves working collaboratively with the senior management team to ensure admissions and discharges are made appropriately, while managing bed flow.
The successful candidate will share a commitment to the philosophy and objectives of the establishment and maintain professional standards in health. They will facilitate the operation of the service's day-to-day functions and continually monitor and coordinate capacity and flow throughout the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain accurate bed states, including actual and potential discharges in conjunction with nursing staff
- Collect and collate data for Operational Site reports
- Report capacity and flow information to site meetings to enable planning and management for the utilisation of in-patient beds
- Ensure Bed Management clinical systems are kept updated and accurate
- Audit current processes and suggest ways to implement new strategies to improve patient flow
- Risk assess patients for transfer to outlying and escalation areas as required
- Liaise with external service providers regarding referrals and grow and maintain relationships with external agencies
About the Service:
The hospital offers a flexible environment designed to support each patient's progress along their rehab pathway. The hospital is a 30-bedded facility providing a holistic service for women between 18-65 with complex mental health needs.
Requirements:
- Valid NMC PIN
- Experience working in a mental health environment
- Excellent track record in a management role within the healthcare sector
- Understanding of mental health issues and a passion for improving clinical quality and patient care
- Extensive understanding of the Care Quality Commission standards of bed management and operational expectations
- Previous experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Clinical Lead Nurse role with experience in a similar environment
- Full right to work in the UK
