About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Professional to join our team. As a Learning Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting students with severe, complex, and moderate learning difficulties and/or disabilities and/or behavioural needs.

Your main duties will include assisting students in their classroom-based lessons and supporting self-directed study times on a 1:1 basis. You will also be responsible for providing support to students with Autism and associated difficulties, some of which are complex. Good communication skills are essential to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students in their classroom-based lessons and provide individualised assistance as needed
  • Assist with the development of life skills, independence, and employability programmes for students
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to deliver high-quality educational programmes
  • Provide emotional literacy support, academic, medical, therapy, and preparation for employment and independence
Requirements
  • E-Literate and competent in IT packages e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
  • A creative approach to motivating learners and an innovative approach to delivering support
  • Experience of working in an FE environment would be advantageous but not essential
  • A Level 3 Support Assistant qualification or equivalent (not essential)
