About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Computer Science to lead our Computer Science department at Wayman Learning Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall direction and development of the department, developing and implementing a dynamic and engaging Computer Science curriculum, and leading and mentoring a team of dedicated Computer Science teachers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Departmental Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for the Computer Science department, aligned with the school's overall vision.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive Computer Science curriculum that prepares students for success.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Computer Science teachers, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Student Success: Promote student achievement and success in Computer Science, working closely with teachers and other stakeholders to ensure students receive the best possible education.
  • External Relations: Represent the department within the school and wider community, building and maintaining relationships with external organizations and institutions.
Requirements
  • Experienced Computer Science Teacher: With a proven track record of success in teaching Computer Science at a senior level.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent Subject Knowledge: A deep understanding of computer science concepts, theories, and current trends.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
