Sports Development Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports Development Officer to join our team at Live Argyll. As Active Schools Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sport and physical activity opportunities to young people across Argyll and Bute.
With a strong passion for sport and physical activity, you will work closely with local communities, schools, sports clubs, and other community organisations to support the delivery of extracurricular sport and activity for our young people.
About UsLive Argyll is a national programme in partnership with Sportscotland that aims to provide more and higher quality opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity before school, during lunchtime, and after school, as well as develop effective pathways between schools and sports clubs in the local community.
Our team is dedicated to providing sport and physical activity for young people across Argyll and Bute. We work collaboratively with partners to increase the number and raise the standard of sport and physical activity opportunities for young people across Argyll and Bute.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with children and young people through sport and physical activity in education, sport, health, community leisure, and/or recreation industries.
- Manage projects and coordinate all elements of Active Schools work.
- Maintain good working relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
- Travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Argyll and Bute and beyond to meet operational requirements.
- Satisfy PVG clearance requirements.
- Educated to degree level or GTCS registered and/or further relevant experience or qualifications in a sports and/or business related discipline.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the aims of the Active Schools Network.
- Extensive experience of engaging with children and young people through sport and physical activity.
- Proven project management experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A full current driving licence and access to a vehicle.
This role offers a competitive salary of approximately £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The post requires Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) registration in relation to working with children and adults.
