Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and skilled actuary to take on a key role within our Life Actuarial department. As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will be responsible for implementing the Actuarial Control Cycle, including data management, modelling, and reporting. You will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality results and contribute to the financial stability and strategic decision-making of the company.

Data Management
  • Identify and define data: Collect and process relevant data to inform our actuarial models and reports.
  • Influence, adjust and analyse data: Analyse data trends and patterns to identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Create or define processes: Develop and implement new processes to improve data collection and analysis efficiency.
Modelling
  • Build appropriate models or develop pre-existing ones: Create and refine actuarial models to accurately predict outcomes and inform business decisions.
  • Identify, document and understand the implications of key assumptions used in models: Evaluate the impact of model assumptions on reported results and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify and quantify risks and opportunities: Identify potential risks and opportunities arising from our actuarial models and provide advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Define solutions, recommending the most appropriate: Provide clear and concise recommendations to senior stakeholders based on your analysis and modelling.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong communication skills: Effective communication is critical in this role, as you will be working closely with our team and senior stakeholders.
  • Previous Actuarial working experience: A strong understanding of actuarial principles and practices is essential for success in this role.
  • Experience in using Prophet: Proficiency in using Prophet or similar predictive analytics tools is highly desirable.
