We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team based in Burscough/Ormskirk. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, with experience working on heavy plant machinery.

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 + Car Allowance

Our client is part of a large engineering organisation based in the Northwest, working on exciting UK projects, including HS2. They are looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team due to the growth of their services.

About the Job

The role is currently office-based over five days, Monday - Thursday 8-5. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cost-effective equipment or modifications to improve safety and reliability.

You will work closely with colleagues to develop project specifications, often involving those from other engineering disciplines. You will also solve complex problems, developing solutions through calculations, mathematical modelling, and CAD.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant qualification, with at least three years of post-grad work experience. Experience in 2D and 3D modelling, ideally using Inventor, is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cost-effective equipment or modifications to improve safety and reliability.
  • Develop project specifications with colleagues.
  • Solve complex problems, developing solutions through calculations, mathematical modelling, and CAD.
  • Recommend modifications following testing.

Requirements:

  1. A degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant qualification.
  2. At least three years of post-grad work experience.
  3. Experience in 2D and 3D modelling, ideally using Inventor.
