Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers to provide support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a friendly and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with complex needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including preparing materials and resources.
  • Support children with emotional regulation, using strategies such as PECS and Makaton.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children with SEND.
  • Positive personality and ability to work in a challenging setting with patience and understanding.
  • Knowledge of PECS or Makaton is an advantage.

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay rate of £95 per day.
  • Full-time, term-time only position (8:30am - 3:30pm).
  • Location: Portsmouth.
